Welcome to the dreamlike clubland of 'Indigo Flamingo' - a dance performance inspired by Malmö’s LGBTQIA+ history, places and people.
With only five summer shows Skånes Dansteater opens up the doors for 'Indigo Flamingo', an interactive performance by the choreographer Gwyn Emberton in collaboration with members of the LGBTQIA+ community of Malmö and Malmö Pride.
Host and DJ Qarl Qunt (Sofia Södergård) invites you to step into the dreamlike clubland of 'Indigo Flamingo', filled with the highs and lows of memories and ideas that appear out of the dance floor itself.
It’s a celebration of community, and you are all invited to become part of the story in this two-hour interactive show, inspired by Malmö’s queer people and places, past and present. You can take to the dancefloor or simply soak up the atmosphere of the fabulous indigo-tinted world of lost memories and hidden surprises.
Club classics and seventies disco
It will be a party that’s like no other, and with a setlist to match, from club classics to seventies disco and Schlager hits that have been selected by members of the community, with some surprises thrown in and mixed by Mr Qarl Qunt himself.
For five nights only, Skånes Dansteater will be transformed into 'Indigo Flamingo', kicking off Malmö’s Pride week, where you will get to interact with our extraordinary company dancers and with Qarl himself, with set and lighting design inspired by archival footage of Malmö’s queer past.
Dress code: come as you please or dress to impress, but in all your fabulousness.
This is (Malmö’s) history with a twist but with lots of dancing.
NB! The performance the 11th of July will be sign interpreted to Swedish sign language.
