Ilkka Häikiö

Ilkka Häikiö works as a lighting designer, video designer and set designer. Since 1996 he has worked on over 100 productions, mainly as a lighting designer and mostly in Sweden, but has also worked in Denmark, Norway and Finland. He has toured with his productions in China, Cuba and India.

Clients include Gothenburg City Theatre, Malmö Opera, Malmö City Theatre, Odense Theatre, Ibsen Theatre and Riksteatern and independent groups such as InSite and Teater Sagohuset. Ilkka is one of three artistic directors in the performing arts group InSite, which works with participatory experiential art.

Ilkka has received a working grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee three times, which has given him the opportunity to build his own light and video studio where he can immerse himself in the development of different concepts for different projects.
