Örjan Andersson

Örjan Andersson is one of Sweden’s most renowned choreographers and regularly works with the major dance companies in Scandiavia. His choreographic work focuses on the body’s inherent possibilities and limitations – ranging from major live music works to opera, to text-based work and to the exploration of classical music. He is known for collaborating with both actors, opera singers, musicians and dancers, so that they together communicate through the same physical language.

Örjan Andersson is artistic director of critically acclaimed Andersson Dance where he previously also has created works with classical music as a starting point, such as ’Goldberg Variations – Ternary patterns for insomnia’ (2015) and ’Prelude – Skydiving from a dream’ (2018) in collaboration with Scottish Ensemble. Together with Skånes Dansteater Örjan Andersson has created ’Röd & Rapsodi’ (2002), ’2nd Construction’ (2006), ’Seven Clues’ (2011) and ’SVART.BLÅ’ (2014).
